Now it’s teasing Cyberpunk 2077’s sequel, which is currently in development under the codename Project Orion.
Speaking on Twitter, Igor Sarzyński, the narrative director for Cyberpunk 2077 and Project Orion announced work has now begun on the next adventure set in the Cyberpunk world. Sarzyński said: "First day in the Boston office! So good to meet old friends and officially kickstart our Orion journey.”
They continued “I couldn't be more excited for this project and I'm sure we can make it something special. 2077 was just a warm-up."
Despite all its flaws, Cyberpunk 2077 was still an impressive RPG. It may have been plagued with bugs and glitches galore but no one can deny the open world wasn’t extraordinary, and the story and side quests were interesting and impactful. With that in mind, to call it a “warm-up” is a very bold claim, and one that should get fans excited for the next game.

Rest assured CD Projekt Red has confirmed future projects will get the time they need to be tested and polished before release, like The Witcher 4, which is the next game on the developer’s release schedule.
There’s currently no release date for the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, though given the project has barely made its way off the ground, it’ll likely be several years before we even get a teaser trailer.
