Cyberpunk 2077 secret confirms what happened to Geralt after The Witcher 3

One of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty's endings hints at Geralt's fate in The Witcher 3...

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, hints at what happened to Geralt following the events of The Witcher 3, whilst also confirming CD Projekt Red is Team Yennefer.

This secret is found in one of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty’s many endings, and will also cover bits of The Witcher 3’s ending as well. I’m going to try to keep spoilers to a minimum but if you haven’t played either and don’t want to know what happens, look away.

Check out Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty below

Following the events of The Witcher 3, specifically its DLC expansion Blood And Wine, Geralt of Rivia retired to his home estate, giving up his life as a witcher seemingly for good.

There’s every chance he could return for The Witcher 4, but it’s likely he won’t be the protagonist and hopefully he plays more of a Vessemir role for Ciri if we’re lucky.

However who Geralt spends the rest of his life with has been a bit of a hot topic, though it seems CD Projekt Red weighed in their answer in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty.

During the ending mission,The Killing Moon, players will reach a point where they can wander off the quest path down some stairs and into a random room.

Once there you’ll find a Data Shard titled Last Wish, also the name of one of the Witcher books by Andrzej Sapkowski.

The shard reads: “Ever since we professed our love to each other - up at the very top with a view of the whole world - I knew right then and there that nothing could separate us except death." This is reminiscent of the end of Yennefer’s romance questline in The Witcher 3.

This little Easter Egg seemingly confirms that Geralt spent his final days with Yennefer, sorry Triss supporters.

So there you have it, CD Projekt Red is seemingly Team Yen all the way, though of course you could still argue that the “canon” is up to interpretation, if it makes you feel better.
