Cyberpunk 2077 massive overhaul adds long-awaited feature and brand-new Night City locations

Cyberpunk 2077 overhaul delivers long-awaited features and new locations. Finally!

Cyberpunk 2077 has had a massive overhaul, including a long-awaited feature and new Night City locations. There’s a lot going on in this DLC.

Like it or not, we’ve started to get used to games launching before they’re fully ready. Still, that doesn’t make the sting any less painful when there’s a lot of issues that need addressing. When Cyberpunk 2077 first launched, it caused quite an uproar amongst players, so much so that the game has been admitted to the New York Museum of Failures.

See what's in store in Cyberpunk 2077:Phantom Liberty in the official trailer!

Topping that feat would take a lot, though no developers are looking to follow in CD Projekt Red’s footsteps. In fact, a lot of AAA games are getting delayed to avoid similar embarrassment. Starfield, due to be released on 6 September 2023, is one such game that was delayed, and has since been praised for the decision.

Cyberpunk 2077:Phantom Liberty has opened up early for a few select fans, with the devs hoping the wrongs of the past can be righted, starting with one long-awaited addition: being able to fully respec your character.

This isn’t just a case of being able to alter cosmetic details, players will be able to redistribute character attributes, reset perks, and basically revamp their character from the ground up. Without having to restart the game.

Here at GAMINGbible, we love being able to customise our characters, which is why the news that Starfield will allow you to change your character later in-game has been so well received. We just love being able to change it up whenever we want.

Alongside this all important feature, Phantom Liberty early access players have also mentioned that new locations have been added in Night City, as well as more routes in the Badlands. Basically, the map is getting some serious TLC.

However, while we’re psyched about the overhaul, we’re not getting our hopes up too much. This is due to the fact that players enjoying the early access are only able to play an hour’s worth of gameplay, meaning they’re limited to what they see.

Then there’s the issue of how fans interpret updates and changes, which can lead to potential misinformation further down the line. We don’t want to doubt anyone, but every gamer has been burnt before.

In addition to larger changes, there’s also smaller tweaks that are garnering praise from players, such as NPCs paying noticing your character. It’s said you can also queue several hacks at a time instead of hacking an individual over and over again. There’s even a new animation that shows V in pain when they leave Ripperdoc.

Like we said, it’s a massive overhaul.

If you intend to play Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty for yourself, it’ll be available on 26 September 2023.
