Batman: Arkham Origins Vengeance quietly released

The Dark Knight returns...again

Batman: Arkham Origins is criminally underrated, and while I’d love nothing more than to ramble for hours about why it’s better than some made it out to be, that's unfortunately a job for another time.

But if you’re one of the fans who know first-hand how good this Batman: Arkham Asylum prequel actually is you’ll be delighted to hear you can experience it again in a whole new way.

Have you played Batman: Arkham Shadow yet? Take a look at the VR gameplay trailer below

Batman: Arkham Origins is sort of an origin story for our Dark Knight, I say sort of because he’s already been Batman for about two years, and while he’s succeeded in striking fear into the hearts of criminals he’s not the symbol of justice he needs to be.

Like any other Arkham game Bruce goes through hell, and it’s made even harder for our caped crusader through the new Vengeance Overhaul mod.

Created by GPUnity and perfectly showcased through a recent YouTube video the Vengeance Overhaul mod makes several changes to Arkham Origins to make for a more challenging experience.

Enemies and bosses have been reworked to put up more of a fight, which makes the new permadeath mode all the more exhilarating. Batman may be a master combatant but his enemies can still get the drop on him from time to time, meaning every mistake in this new mode could be your last.

The best change in my opinion though is the faster gliding, as the traversal Batman: Arkham Origins is honestly my biggest gripe with the game and I think many will agree with me on that.

Vengeance Overhaul completely changes the game, and while it might not be everyone’s cup of tea I think the hardcore fans out there will get a serious kick out of the increased challenge, plus it’s free on NexusMods so what’s the harm in trying it?
