Maybe it’s the lack of interest in Skull and Bones from so many, but most gamers are choosing to focus on Assassin’s Creed’s future rather than taking a look at Ubisoft’s new pirating adventure.
The news that Ubisoft has made its next major game free for a limited time should be what we care about, right? Yet, what happens with Skull and Bones matters little now we know the release window for Assassin’s Creed Red.
Assassin's Creed Red looks stunning – we really hope this release date is true!
Recent Unreal Engine concepts of what the new AC title will look like have only fanned the flames of our need for more information. Information that’s seemingly landed in our laps, so to speak.

According to VGC’s Andy Robinson, Assassin’s Creed Red will launch in March 2025, apparently confirmed by Ubisoft itself. Considering there’s already a reveal trailer, we’d been hoping this wouldn’t be another episode of mistakenly announcing a game too early; if 2025 is the launch date, it seems we needn’t be worried.
Responses so far are… lukewarm at best. “So next fiscal year, no surprise,” was one underwhelmed comment, while others merely hoped that 2025 was a typo and the game would actually launch this year. It would be nice, but it’s unlikely.
Undoubtedly, the fact that Ezio was the pinnacle of the franchise is part of the reason the fandom isn’t hyped about the confirmation – how can you top such a glorious moment in the series’ history? You can’t, quite frankly. Not that Ubisoft can’t make another stellar RPG, just it won’t ever capture what Ezio managed to do all those years ago.

As it stands at present, we can either take sources at their word that Ubisoft has confirmed 2025 is the year for Red to launch, or we can continue to hold out until Ubisoft makes a public announcement. Ever the optimists, we’d like to believe Assassin’s Creed Red is releasing as “confirmed”.
