Pedro Pascal has been cast in Ridley Scott’s Gladiator 2, which is currently expected to release sometime in 2024.
At the time of writing, we know very little about Gladiator 2. The first movie was released in May 2000 and was a massive critical success. At the Academy Awards alone, it won Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Costume Design, Best Visual Effect, as well as Best Sound. In terms of being a commercial success, Gladiator generated over $503 million at the box office from its reported $103 million budget. In terms of what the critics and viewers had to say, Gladiator earned respectable scores of 80% from critics and 87% from the audience on Rotten Tomatoes.
Pedro Pascal was last seen in The Mandalorian. Our next Star Wars fix comes in the form of Ahsoka this summer.
Nearly a quarter of a century in the making, it's fair to say that the Gladiator sequel is very much highly anticipated. What else do we know about Gladiator 2 at this time? Well, it will be directed once more by the aforementioned Ridley Scott, and written by David Scarpa (The Man in the High Castle).

According to its IMDb page, alongside Pedro Pascal, it will also star Denzel Washington (Malcolm X, Training Day), Connie Nielsen (Gladiator, Wonder Woman), Paul Mescal (Normal People, Aftersun), Barry Keoghan (Dunkirk, The Banshees of Inisherin), Djimon Hounsou (Shazam, Guardians of the Galaxy), and finally Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things, Game of Thrones). Now that is a stellar cast.
In the exclusive report from Deadline, it is currently not known what role Pedro Pascal will play in Gladiator 2, but we have no doubts that he’ll steal the show even without the presence of Ellie or Din Grogu.
In related news, back in 2021, rumours were making the rounds that the MCU’s Chris Hemsworth might star in Gladiator 2. However, there are currently no signs of that prospect coming to reality at this time.
