Whether it's video games, TV and movies, board games or collectable merchandise, Pokémon is without question one of the most popular properties on the planet and new sensation Palworld has no problem taking a slice of its fanbase.
Palworld was released on 19 January 2024 as an early-access title on PC and Xbox, and since that time, it’s taken the video game industry and social media by storm. Even if you haven't played Palworld, the chances are that you may have at least heard of it if you’ve been following video game news.

The multiplayer survival game developed by indie studio Pocket Pair has proven to be so popular on the Xbox platform, that Palworld is now the biggest third-party game ever to launch on Xbox Game Pass. However, not everyone is a fan of the game after a Dead by Daylight developer said that Palworld is boring and was quickly faced with the wrath of the internet.

With the massive success that Palworld has garnered, it’s easy to forget that this is still an early-access title; it's only been released for a few short weeks. Over time, the developers at Pocket Pair will evolve the game and hopefully, react positively to constructive feedback from its fans. As such, Palworld fans on Reddit have been discussing an important missing feature that they’d like to see implemented in the game one day.
“Does anybody else notice that Palworld is really missing one important detail, the weather?” asked Redditor Willcario. “I'm talking rain/thunderstorms, snow storms, sand storms, maybe even ash storms in the volcano region. I would love to relax in my base on a rainy day if I could.”
“I think weather that has a noticeable effect on gameplay would be sick. Like water types spawning more and getting a damage boost in rain,” replied PolygonalTriesToHard. “It could have stormy weather and when lightning strikes it can power your generator, house or your character/pal,” suggests filthydozen.
However, not everyone is keen on the prospect of dynamic weather in Palworld, as it could result in negatively impacting framerate performance. “I do hope weather is included, but done in a way that doesn't cripple performance,” exclaimed Pinstar, echoing the thoughts of many others on the thread. If Pocket Pair were to implement dynamic weather at a later date, hopefully, it would come with added performance and graphics options.
