The studio behind hit creature collector, Palworld, has given its staff the day off to play Monster Hunter Wilds.
According to a social media post on Twitter, the developer received some “mysterious” notes from the staff who hinted that they might not be able to work on Friday 28 February.
Monster Hunter Wilds is available now
The notes from staff detailed how many would “probably be feeling unwell” and, rather than have the staff all calling in with a hacking cough, or suspicious fever, the studio is closing its doors.

There’s no specific mention that this is due to Monster Hunter Wilds, however, the studio is having a random “holiday day” for staff to stay home.
While the developer is storming full steam ahead on their roadmap for Palworld, it’s also showing that their developers and workers are able to take some time to enjoy a mammoth release.
It’s worth noting, Pocket Pair Inc. also gave the staff a day off for the release of Elden Ring a few years ago, perhaps because so many of them suddenly came down with a heavy cold.
The memo published on Twitter, and spotted by Automaton, details that all employees (aside from essential staff) will be given the day off to deal with their “illnesses” and return to work on Monday when they feel better.

Knowing that this news will be seen by the public, the studio is quick to say, “Please note that updates to Palworld and Craftopia are progressing smoothly and are expected to be implemented as scheduled.”
Monster Hunter Wilds is already off to a roaring start, almost tripling player counts on Steam over the previous release, slowly building to a million concurrent players.
It’s no wonder, when the game has received so many positive previews and reviews - there are millions of hunters just waiting to slay some beasties.
