Yet another original Harry Potter star is hoping to return in the upcoming HBO TV reboot. It’s someone who’s had quite the change of tune though.
The upcoming Harry Potter TV series has proved to be incredibly controversial. Understandably, there are many people asking if a remake, of what is arguably one of the most popular franchises in filmmaking history, is needed. Others are displeased of JK Rowling’s inclusion as an executive producer due to her transphobic comments in recent years. The “decade long” project will feature an all new cast, with roughly one season dedicated to each book. I must admit, it’s jarring to think of a new interpretation of Diagon Alley or the Great Hall, for example. Already we know that Tom Felton is keen to return in a new role, and now it appears that Natalie Tena is too.
Check out the reveal trailer for the series below.
This took me by surprise. Back in April, Tena was seemingly very much against the reboot. She made the tongue-in-cheek comment, “If they do [recast], they deserve to die! No, no, it’s terrible.” Seemingly, now that she’s had time to think about the series, the actress has a fresh perspective on the whole situation.

In an interview with ScreenRant, Tena explained that she’d actually like to portray one of the professors. She said, “Actually, when I found out about the HBO thing, I think there's that initial thing as an actor where you're like, ‘Oh, don't remake something,’ but then I was like, ‘No, it's gonna be amazing!’ I got really excited about it.”
“Then I was like, ‘Do you think I'm old enough now to play one of the teachers? How can I get another gig on this amazing project?’ So, I'm definitely putting that to my agent.” Draco actor Tom Felton previously expressed that he’d like to portray an older character - namely, Draco’s father Lucius. It awaits to be seen if either star will land a role in the new series.
