As you’ll likely be very aware, the next Call of Duty game on the radar is Modern Warfare II, the sequel to the much-loved Modern Warfare 2019. The game will continue the story of Captain Price and the members of Task Force 141 as they scoot around the globe gift-wrapping hot lead like christmas presents for the ne’er-do-wells of the world.
Up until now, we’ve had the reveal of the game from publisher Activision and developer Infinity Ward, alongside cinematic trailers and even an extended look at gameplay. What we haven’t had, is any kind of look at the game’s multiplayer, and whether it will include fan-favourite maps from the franchise or not. Well, a new leak suggests that, yes, we are going to be getting a bunch of new and iconic maps.
Speaking of that Modern Warfare II gameplay, have a little look at it below to get an idea of the quality you can expect from the upcoming title.
So, this leak bizarrely enough comes from Activision itself, with a number of images of the multiplayer maps coming from none other than COD Warzone Mobile. Don’t trust anybody, not even yourself etc. These snaps are seemingly from the Modern Warfare II multiplayer suite and even include their names. It’s because of this we know that the game will likely include a remake of (be still my beating heart) Favela from Modern Warfare 2 2009.
Other maps included are called “Grand Prix” which takes place on, you guessed it, a grand prix track and another called “Oilfield”. The images are being posted by a Twitter account called RealiityUK and are still up at time of writing, but will likely not be around for long.
Advert
Activision have confirmed that Modern Warfare II will release October 28th 2022 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Battle.net and Steam.
