If you enjoyed the beta period for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, waiting for the game’s launch may feel like an arduous task but as they say, good things come to those who wait. Already, Infinity Ward have outlined a number of changes that’ll come to the game based on beta player feedback including a major overhaul of the new third-person feature.
In case you missed it, you can gain early access to the game from the 20 October. Find out how to do so here. Most of us will be joining in on the fun on 28 October, and now we know two fan-favourite maps are returning.

When I say ‘fan-favourite,’ that’s Activision’s wording so we can only hope that it’s an accurate description. In a blog post, Activision revealed that when Warzone 2.0 and Season 1 launches on 18 November, “a returning fan-favourite multiplayer map” would be added into the game, in addition to extra “Special Ops missions.”

That’s not all. On 14 December, another “legendary multiplayer map” is coming to Modern Warfare II. Any guesses? I’d love to see Dome and Estate make a return, and I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that.
In case you missed it, insiders are teasing that 2023’s Call of Duty instalment will instead be replaced with a Modern Warfare II expansion. It’s not yet known exactly what this will look like but it’s thought the expansion will include new campaign content. Activision are certainly counting on Modern Warfare II being a big hit.
