It’s undeniable that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is one of the most anticipated games we have on the horizon. Its predecessor, the excellent Marvel’s Spider-Man, recently got re-released in remastered form on PC, reminding everyone just how fun it is to zip and swing around the streets of New York.
GAMINGbible’s James Daly gave Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered a 9/10 score in his review, praising it as “a triumph of AAA video gaming”. He added: “From the endlessly satisfying web-swinging to the clever RPG elements, from the rich cast of characters to the hard-hitting main story, this is one of the best games I’ve ever played.”

Fans will know that the sequel, featuring both Peter Parker and Miles Morales, is planned to release at some point in 2023. That said, we’ve only seen one short trailer for the game (shown over a year ago), which has caused some fans to worry that the title may end up getting delayed. However, Insomniac Games has now responded directly to these concerns.

Replying to a fan on Twitter who said that they were “starting to get worried”, and “really hope it doesn’t get delayed”, Insomniac said: “Don’t. We're making good progress and it's still slated for 2023. Showing games takes time, effort, resources, and coordination.”
Spidey enthusiasts are understandably thrilled about the news: “THANK YOU INSOMNIAC FOR SPEAKING UP!!!!!! AND THANKS FOR THE CONFIRMATION WE LOVE YOU!!!” replied @LOMAZDA1. “Oh my goodness I LOVE YOU GUYS,” wrote @SpiderFab30. “No [for real] I love you guys. I can assure you it’s a day one cop and I’ll be buying the most expensive edition you have for the game,” tweeted @crutchussy.
Sounds like we can all stay hyped, then - expect the game to swing onto PS5 next year.
