Marvel's Spider-Man 2 actor teases brutal Venom

Tony Todd has been teasing Venom's role in Marvel's Spider-Man 2, and it sounds like he's going to be bringing a lot to the table.

It’s officially 2023, and you know what that means. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is releasing this year, and I don’t think any of us are ready for it.

The highly anticipated sequel is set to swing onto PS5 this autumn, so although there’s still quite a wait ahead, the end is very much in sight - fans can get ready to see Miles Morales and Peter Parker team up, and it’s also been confirmed that Venom will be making an appearance. Other than that, details are still light on the ground, but Insomniac Games has reiterated that the game definitely isn’t being delayed, so fear not.

Take a look at the trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 below.

Now though, as reported by ComicBook, Venom’s voice actor Tony Todd has been teasing his character’s role in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, as well as how exciting the title is going to be. Speaking on the Deeper Level podcast on YouTube, he was asked “how mind-blowing” the game is going to be, based on the script that he’s read.

“You know the scene in Miles Morales where they’re chasing Rhino, and they’re smashing through windows, you don’t know what’s gonna happen, and […] breaking glass is falling down on you? That’s what it’s gonna be like,” he responded. “Venom doesn’t play, man, and Venom doesn’t give a damn. We don’t give a damn who the damn game is named after. Because I am you, you are me.”

Todd was also (understandably) full of praise for Marvel’s Spider-Man and Miles Morales: “It’s incredible, it’s incredible. What they do with the landscape, and the sky, and the images of New York, and the acrobatics and movement is just insane,” he said. Previously, the actor also claimed that the sequel will be “massive”, so there’s lots to be excited about in the new one.

At the time of writing, we’ve still only seen one trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, but hopefully that’ll change in the coming months as we inch closer to release.
