Marvel has teased a new Doctor Strange, which might surprise some fans.
Whether it’s the world of comic books or the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Strange aka the Sorcerer Supreme is one of the most popular and powerful heroes. Furthermore, what makes the character so compelling is that he’s not afraid to dabble in the dark side of his mystical talents.

However, as reported by Comicbook.com, Doctor Strange is about to take a surprising turn in the new comic book series, The Ultimate as teased in issue eight, Black Panther. I won't go into spoilers for what happens specifically with T’Challa, but I will of course be going into spoilers for the good doctor, so you have been warned.

The Ultimate offers different takes on our favourite Marvel characters. For example, a recent issue explored a leading member of the Fantastic Four corrupted by the Maker that could hint at how the new MCU Doctor Doom played by Robert Downey Jr. (of course, formerly Iron Man) came to be.
In the aforementioned eighth issue, Killmonger and X-Men’s Storm are sent on a mission which leads them to the whereabouts of where to find the Sorcerer Supreme after interrogating an unfortunate individual.
This individual then refers to the Sorcerer Supreme as “them”. This might hint at the fact that Doctor Strange isn't the Sorcerer Supreme, after all, there have been many characters that have taken up that mantle over the years in comic book stories.
The individual could be deliberately vague by referring to the Sorcerer Supreme as “them” in an attempt to keep their identity a secret. Of course, this Sorcerer Supreme could be a male, female or a non-binary character. Only time will tell.
