Lord of the Rings has been a successful franchise in the video game world. There were a few games before, but Peter Jackson's film trilogy was a massive boost for titles set in Middle-earth. The PS2 especially has some gems, with the fan-favourite movie-licensed The Two Towers and Return of the King to name but a couple.
The PC, however, has been a stable home for Tolkien's universe, with 2019's Journeys in Middle-earth and the upcoming Return to Moria. The PC is also home to a less well-known game set in Middle-earth, which may be familiar if you're a Total War fan. It might not be an official release, but it's a mod that's recreated Tolkien's world immaculately - Lord of the Rings: Total War. The remastered version is currently available to download.
Check out the upcoming The Lord of the Rings: Gollum below - releasing soon for PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
