It would seem that Rockstar Games hasn't quite forgotten what a sequel is after all.
In the last few days, we've had actual confirmation after years of rumours and speculation that Grand Theft Auto VI is well into development. As if that wasn't exciting enough, there's even been talk that Bully 2 is once again being worked on in some capacity.
News of these two games alone would be enough to send any Rockstar fan into a frenzy, but according to the developer's parent company Take-Two Interactive, there may well be more sequels to come.

During a company earnings call earlier this week, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick told investors that the company hasn't forgotten about its vast library of established IPs, and mentioned that there are plenty of games in its back catalogue that would benefit from sequels.
"We have the strongest and most diverse pipeline in our Company’s history, comprised of new intellectual properties, as well as sequels to many of our beloved franchises," Zelnick said. "We look forward to delivering many of these titles in the coming months and beyond."
While the CEO didn't specifically mention any franchises by name, the accompanying slide included images of three beloved Rockstar games: L.A. Noire, Midnight Club, and Max Payne 3. This is hardly confirmation that sequels to these games are in the works right now, obviously, but given how long it's been since we've seen any of them, it's an incredibly encouraging sign that they're being shown off in the same breath as talk of sequels.
