How are we all feeling after The Game Awards? Both in terms of the actual results and the amount of sleep you managed to get, that is. It was a huge night for celebrating 2022’s best games - to the surprise of no one, Elden Ring (deservedly) bagged the coveted Game of the Year award, as well as Best Role Playing Game, Best Art Direction and Best Game Direction. Can’t really argue with any of that.
The show also gave us plenty of peeks at future releases ahead of us, including a new look at Cyberpunk 2077’s upcoming DLC expansion, Phantom Liberty. The DLC will take players to a new district of Night City, and will this time feature what’s been described as a “spy-thriller” adventure. As well as Keanu Reeves reprising his role as Johnny Silverhand, players can get ready to team up with another familiar face, as it’s been confirmed that iconic actor Idris Elba will star in the DLC.
Take a look at the latest Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty trailer below to see Idris Elba in action.
As reported by IGN, Elba will be playing a new character - veteran New United States of America agent Solomon Reed. CD Projekt Red has teased that he’s “apparently the only person players can trust to help them fulfil an impossible mission of espionage and survival”. Intriguing.

Although much of Phantom Liberty’s story and premise remains a mystery, it sure seems that it’ll have a stacked cast. It was previously confirmed that Twitch streamer Sasha Grey (real name Marina Ann Hantzis) will be voicing Ash - a DJ for the in-game community radio station, 89.7 Growl FM.
Unfortunately, we still don’t have a confirmed release date for Phantom Liberty, but it’s set to release at some point in 2023 - hopefully, it’ll live up to its hype.
