Hogwarts Legacy sales have been bolstered by the Black Friday sales, as it soars back up the best-selling charts.
The Harry Potter-inspired RPG was unfortunately snubbed at this year’s upcoming Game Awards, not being nominated for a single category. It’s to be expected since this year has given the games industry some real heavy-hitters, like Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom, Baldur’s Gate 3, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and many more.
Hogwarts Legacy recently released on Nintendo Switch, with a snazzy new trailer you can watch below.
That hasn’t stopped fans from expressing their disappointment though, with many calling its exclusion an injustice. One streamer even had a tantrum over its lack of inclusion, blaming the drama surrounding Harry Potter’s author JK Rowling for its omission.

Regardless the game is still doing very well as one of the best-selling games of the year. It helps that it’s available to buy on literally everything, initially releasing on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC, before being ported to Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and finally to Nintendo Switch this month.
Now that the Black Friday sales are underway, the game is getting even more attention, once again skyrocketing to the top of the best-selling charts for this week, ahead of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare III and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which recently surpassed five million sales.
Of course, sales don’t equal a spot on the Game Awards ballot, though Hogwarts Legacy isn’t on its own. Bethesda’s new space-faring IP Starfield also missed out on a nomination for Game Of The Year and only received one nomination for all the other awards, though fans aren’t exactly surprised.
Hogwarts Legacy can be played on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC and now Nintendo Switch.
