For those on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, it’s officially Hogwarts Legacy release day, which feels a little strange to say when so many people have already been playing it.
The title is as controversial as ever - many have decided to boycott it to avoid supporting Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, who has been criticised for making harmful comments about the trans community. Even so, the game still managed to hit a whopping 300K players on Steam during the early access period, and also brought in a record-breaking amount of viewers on Twitch.

Although players have been full of praise for just about everything, from the immersive open world to the character creator, one big issue with broom flight has been highlighted. More specifically, gamers are finding the camera controls very restrictive, and are pleading for the devs to make alterations.

“You can't look straight down or up! I'm flying in the Forbidden Forest over a herd of centaurs and I can't look down at them,” one Reddit user wrote. “I’m doing the balloon challenges and I hit one balloon, but missed the rest and... I can't just pitch the camera [a] little above me to see them. I'm doing the Merlin Challenges and try to use the broom to get a better view of where the different parts of the challenge are... nope, can't look down at all while you're high up on the broom.”
This isn’t just a problem on consoles, either, as another user pointed out: “You wanna know the funny part? This is an issue on PC as well, despite the fact that flight controls are bound to the keyboard and camera controls are bound to the mouse. So up and down on the mouse are simply disabled when flying. What the heck,” they replied.
Hopefully, a fix will be implemented soon. Some suggested that players could try submitting a request via the Portkey Games Support site to make the devs aware, and it’s definitely worth a shot if this is something that bothers you.
