Hogwarts Legacy may not have been 2023’s most critically beloved game, but I’d argue that it was its most commercially successful.
In fact, it was the best-selling single-player game in the UK since Grand Theft Auto V, which is quite an achievement. Google also confirmed that Hogwarts Legacy was the search engine’s most searched-for game. While a sequel hasn’t been confirmed, nor any kind of DLC, it feels like it’s only a matter of time. Warner Bros and Avalanche Software would be silly not to capitalise on the game’s success and while Hogwarts Legacy’s open world drastically needed more interest, the game laid some solid foundations packed with potential.
ICYMI: Did you spot this fun detail in Hogwarts castle?
Given that the game originally released almost a year ago now, you might think that players had discovered all there is to see, but one appears to have just stumbled across a hidden grotto. The discovery was made by Reddit user AJPWthrowaway. “Stumbled upon this interesting little unused area of a grotto. I can't recall seeing this in any other part of the game,” they began. “Interesting how the inside doesn’t match the outside and this symbol on the floor is intriguing too.”

Showcasing one stone detail, they wrote, “This is especially cool. I don’t recall seeing this anywhere else.” You can seemingly locate the grotto by diving into a specific spot in the middle of the Black Lake. It’s understandably left players perplexed as the hidden locale doesn’t appear to offer much in the way of loot.
“Ooo neat, I found the grotto but yeah, you can't normally access that area it looks like,” NoAirBanding wrote, suggesting accessing this area could be a PC glitch. No_Scarcity_1882 commented, “Nice find! I noticed that in another underwater cave in the south of the map, there was also a little house like this one (the front looked the same) hidden away that couldn't be accessed.” What other secrets is Hogwarts Legacy still hiding?
