Considering that Hogwarts Legacy was 2023’s best-selling game, it’s strange to think that it’s received no major content updates to date.
This is likely due to the game’s staggered launch. After the initial PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S versions went live, developers were left to finalise the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One editions. That was then followed by the long-awaited Nintendo Switch version which landed in November of last year.
That didn’t exactly leave Avalanche with a ton of time to expand and improve the game but alas, new content is finally on the way very soon.

This summer, the PlayStation-exclusive ‘Haunted Hogsmeade Shop’ quest will launch on PC, Xbox, and Switch - joined by other “updates” and “features” previously teased by devs.
It has been said that players should temper their expectations so I’d say a photo mode is perhaps far more likely than an area expansion, but we’re yet to receive confirmation.
We’re rapidly approaching summer so I’m imagining an update will land soon. Perhaps the update will shadow drop during the upcoming Summer Game Fest?
If it does, Hogwarts Legacy will assuredly see a major influx of returning players. With so many of us potentially set to dive back into the game, it’s a good time to make note of some handy features you may not have noticed the first time around.

Enjoy a tour of Hogwarts’ four house common rooms below.
Reddit user Ravenchef just brought an incredible time-saving hack to our attention.
Hogwarts Legacy’s Room of Requirement is easily one of the most fun aspects of the game. You can collect and breed magical creatures, brew potions, use your loom to craft upgrades, and, of course, simply just decorate to suit your tastes.

It’s like a mini cosy game built within the heart of Hogwarts Legacy. It’s pretty time consuming to get your ever-expanding room set up though … or so we thought.
“I completed the game a year ago and just recently decided to do another playthrough. 27 hours in and decorating my Room of Requirement and was getting a little annoyed every time the room expands. I have to go change each wall to match my theme,” Ravenchef began.
“I remember how much time it took me on my first playthrough and it made me not want to use the room very often. Have just realised if you hold the button you can apply to all walls, floors etc. This has completely changed the game for me.”
Well, well, well. This I did not know.

As for other handy tips? You can Accio loot bags (via Frankie1891), adjust whether your hood is up or down (via darrius_kingston314q), and you can use controller vibrations whilst casting Revelio to track how close you are to a nearby item (via neilb303).
Those tips should set us all up nicely for another playthrough.
