With just over a month to go until Hogwarts Legacy’s release (on PC and new-gen consoles, that is), some fans are now having their preorders cancelled seemingly out of nowhere.
As GGRecon reports, a number of gamers have taken to Twitter having received messages about cancelled preorders, and Warner Bros. Games is completely aware of the situation. According to the official support account, the cancellations are a result of the delay which was announced last month.

Although the new-gen versions of Hogwarts Legacy are still set to release in February, the delay of the PS4 and Xbox One versions seems to have caused some trouble for those on Xbox Series X/S - specifically those who preordered the Digital Deluxe Edition. WB Games Support explained: “The cancellation is due to the delay of the release of the Xbox One version which is included with the Digital Deluxe Edition for Xbox Series X/S. You should have received an email about it, so please check your inbox and spam.”
If you’re one of the people affected by this, fear not. In further responses, the support account clarified that players will be able to re-purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition, and the preorder page on the website has now been updated - it reads: "Consumers who purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition will receive access to the Xbox One version on 4 April, 2023."

Plenty of fans have been getting their preorders in on PS5, too - on Amazon, the physical version of the game is the best selling PS5 game of the year so far (although admittedly, four days into the year, that’s not a huge accolade).
Hogwarts Legacy releases on new-gen consoles and PC on 10 February, previous-gen on 4 April, and Nintendo Switch on 25 July.
