‘The Haunted Hogsmeade Shop’ isn’t simply the perfect Hogwarts Legacy mission to play for Halloween, it’s the best mission in the game full stop.
Hogwarts Legacy was originally released all the way back in February on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, with the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One launch following in May. The launch cycle isn’t even over. Hogwarts Legacy will finally land on Nintendo Switch on 14 November. Beyond that, because yes there’s more, ‘The Haunted Hogsmeade Shop’ will become playable to all. For now, it’s a PlayStation exclusive quest but its one year exclusivity is due to run out in February. This means that PC, Xbox, and Switch players will have to wait a little bit longer to get their hands on it but for you PlayStation folk, it perfectly captures the essence of Halloween.

‘The Haunted Hogsmeade Shop’ is both spooky and excellently designed. If you’re yet to dive in, the quest is set in a shop previously owned by Cassandra Mason. Mason appears to want to sell it and yet, the new owners never stay long. You soon find out that it’s haunted by a poltergeist known as Fastidio. Before long, you’re sent into a mind bending maze full of optical illusions as Fastidio does his best to trap you in a confusing hellscape.

You’ll come face to face with slamming doors, ever-changing corridors, and mannequins that move as soon as you take your eyes off them or the lights dim. I did say it’s pretty spooky - and some Hogwarts Legacy players are planning on diving back in for Halloween. Reddit user zenKeyrito said, “Did you save your Haunted Hogsmeade mission for Halloween? I did! Despite it being a PS5 exclusive, I figured what better time to experience the ‘best’ mission in the game than during Halloween.”
“It really is the best mission in the game. Creepy fun,” added departurehungry, while H28koala said, “It was creepy so a good Halloween fit.” It’s a shame so many players are still waiting to access it.
