Fans of the monumentally successful Hogwarts Legacy games are already talking about what they’d like to see in an upcoming sequel.
Hogwarts Legacy is without a doubt the most successful Harry Potter game of all time, surpassing the films it was based on in revenue and generating over $1 billion in total sales. That’s including incoming sales from the Nintendo Switch version, which is set to release later this year following several delays.
Not only has it been fun to explore classic Harry Potter locations like the infamous School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and its neighbouring town of Hogsmeade, it also featured a solid story, and plenty of fun spells to keep the combat entertaining, which has only been expanded with the latest PC mods.

After all of its success over the last few months, fans are now thinking about what could have been, and what might be in the unannounced sequel that’s inevitably on the way.
A recent Reddit thread titled “Here's the one thing I want in a Hogwarts Legacy sequel” kicked off the discussion by suggesting players should be able to “transfer saves from Hogwarts Legacy 1” which makes sense, as it’d be like you’d simply progressed to a new year of Hogwarts studies retaining all prior knowledge and abilities.
The post then pointed out that it’d depend on whether a sequel is actually planned, and if it is, if the story follows the same character as a sixth year student.

Other fans suggested their own improvements, like improved morality systems similar to games like Rockstar’s Bully, in addition to more areas to explore.
“I want consequences for choosing the bad path or using unforgivables. Right now it feels fine to spam them. Maybe like a different storyline for dark wizards. Like skyrim picking the empire or the nords."
“I would love 5-10 years later, MC is an auror with the big bad being Sebastian because MC either turned him in or MC told him they can’t save his sister. The setting is the Ministry of Magic and London/Diagon Alley maybe?”
With the amount of money Hogwarts Legacy continues to rake in, it’s more than likely sequels have been planned.

In the meantime, the dedicated modding community have been hard at work adding new features of their own to the game, ranging from rideable dragons, online multiplayer and replacing all wands with handguns.
