There’s been plenty of news trickling out of Rockstar Games HQ in recent days. We learnt that the studio reportedly canned plans to remaster Grand Theft Auto IV and Red Dead Redemption, whilst support for Red Dead Online is also winding to a close. Can I get a sad yee haw?
The only consolation amidst all of this is that reportedly, Rockstar are finally ready to pour all of their efforts into the highly-anticipated GTA VI. Before that though, the fate of yet another classic GTA game hangs in the balance as Grand Theft Auto: Vice City has been delisted on certain platforms.
Check out this incredible fan-made remaster of GTA: San Andreas, made using Unreal Engine 5.
As spotted by ComicBook, Twitter user TheNathanNS took to the social media site after he noticed that GTA: Vice City had seemingly been delisted from the Google Play Store, meaning that the game is no longer available to Android users. Rockstar are yet to comment on the move, but it does fit with what we know they’ve done in the past.

In the lead up to the release of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition, several of the original PlayStation 2 era GTA games - including Vice City - were removed from sale. It was a hugely unpopular move as players argued that not everyone wanted to purchase the remasters, with some preferring the nostalgia of the original versions. It’s not an argument Rockstar was particularly persuaded by though.
If Android users have already downloaded GTA: Vice City then they will still be able to continue playing it. It’s not yet known exactly which territories the change affects as users have reported varying results when checking if Vice City is available on their countries’ store.
It’s believed that Rockstar are gearing up to release The Definitive Edition on Android devices which could land in 2023. If this proves to be true, Rockstar appears to be repeating what previously happened with the PlayStation store. We’ll be keeping an eye on this one.
