An insider has revealed that Grand Theft Auto fans should mark 26 October in the calendar as this is the day Rockstar will announce Grand Theft Auto 6.
Since Grand Theft Auto 5 was released in 2013, fans have been eagerly awaiting the announcement of the sixth instalment in the franchise. However, despite much coaxing, Rockstar has kept its cards close to its chest. Now according to one insider known as MarxxChris, the announcement will happen on 26 October, 2023.

“I can now confirm that Grand Theft Auto VI announcement is set to release on 26 October 2023,” MarxxChris wrote on Twitter. When asked for a source, they tagged a Tweet from InfinityBesk who wrote “October 26th of 2023 will be an interesting day to say the least”. InfinityBesk is a “retired GTA investigator” and “passionate Rockstar d**krider” so whether that means they have access to insider knowledge or not is anybody’s guess.

As for MarxxChris, the insider has built a reputation for leaking some accurate information on games such as Payday 3 and Dragon’s Dogma II. They have also previously leaked information about GTA 6 including rumours that Rockstar will “enhance the realism of random encounters such as random robberies of your safehouse, being stalked while walking at night, and people attempting to enter your house or car”.
Not to stop there, MarxxChris also claims that GTA 6 will launch on PC and console on the same date as opposed to the standard year long wait most studios follow. This aims at "ensuring that everyone can enjoy Grand Theft Auto VI by the early to mid-2025 timeframe." These leaks have not gone without skepticism from fans, which is understandable seeing as Rockstar has yet to confirm any of them. However, after a ten year wait, you can’t blame some fans for holding onto hope.
It remains to be seen if 26 October is the promised day. Fingers crossed.
