At least in recent memory, there’s not been a video game that has garnered the amount of hype as the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI from Rockstar Games.
Following years of rumours and infamous gameplay leaks, Rockstar Games finally revealed the debut GTA VI trailer in December 2023 which sent social media into a frenzy. Yet, we still know very little about the game ahead of its anticipated launch next year.
Check out the GTA VI trailer below!
What we know so far is that the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series will be set in the returning Miami-inspired location of Vice City and it will feature two playable characters, Jason and Lucia, said to be inspired by historic crime duo, Bonnie and Clyde.

We know that Lucia is an ex-con recently released from prison in the story of GTA VI, but what about Jason? We know that he’s the partner of Lucia, but details provided by Rockstar Games on Jason have been pretty much none-existent at this time.
Yet, Twitter user GameRollGTA believes to have spotted an interesting detail in the featured artwork of GTA VI related to Jason which may indicate that he’s an ex-con like Lucia. GameRollGTA mentions that the shoes worn by Jason appear to be standard footwear provided by federal prisons in the United States.

If these shoes are prison footwear that Jason appears to be wearing, it raises some questions. For starters, why would he still be wearing them if he’s no longer in prison or does he just really like the footwear?
Of course, this is mere speculation at this point but with a bit of luck, we may learn more in the coming months when Rockstar Games releases the next trailer for GTA VI.
Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled to be released in 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. At the time of writing, a PC release hasn't been announced, yet.
