GTA VI fans are angered following yet another strike resulting in another takedown courtesy of Rockstar Games parent company, Take-Two Interactive.

Fans are eagerly awaiting the second trailer for GTA VI, 15 months after the first trailer was revealed in December 2023. Yet instead of getting fans hyped, Take-Two Interactive is being slammed by fans for its aggressive behaviour.

Check out the GTA VI trailer below!

A common idea of a concept is that it’s not official. For example, there are many well-made TV and movie trailers on YouTube for productions that have not been announced yet, at least officially.

These concept trailers are fan-made and totally unofficial, but many of them are really cool. The same can perhaps be said for a concept map for GTA VI, which is basically a huge mod for GTA V.

The fan-made GTA VI map in question called ‘Project Vice’ is created by the YouTuber known as Dark Space, who has already faced issues from Rockstar Games parent company, Take-Two Interactive in the past.

Now, as reported by Rock, Paper, Shotgun, ‘Project Vice’ has been shut down via a cease and desist, meaning that this free, non-profit map is inaccessible to all.

“I spent months building a fan-made GTA VI-inspired map inside GTA V, something purely made out of passion, not profit,” said Dark Space in a recent video. “But shortly after uploading a video showcasing the project, Take-Two Interactive took it down. No warning. No conversation. Just gone.”

As disappointing as this news is, at the end of the day, it’s Take-Two Interactive’s property and sadly for some, it can do whatever it wants with Grand Theft Auto.

The GTA VI concept map was inspired by the infamous leaks that plagued the internet long before Rockstar Games officially released the first trailer.

It makes me wonder, how accurate is this map to the real GTA VI map and is this the reason why Take-Two Interactive have acted so aggressively on a non-profit fan project? We can only speculate.

“If they strike it, it’s canon,” claimed Redditor ZookeepergameProud30, suggesting that the Dark Space’s creation was close to the real thing.

“They strike again…,” responded emeric1414.

“I do not support multi-billionaire companies destroying non-profit fan-made projects,” said pdnDamiao. “Is Take-Two really insecure about GTA VI? History repeats itself like the GTA IV Vice City mod

“When I watched that video, I KNEW it would get taken down. They basically exposed a shady Rockstar employee by name and revealed the things he was saying in private,” replied Sunimo1207, making a very valid point.

GTA VI is currently expected to be released late this year on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Hopefully, the second trailer reveal will be made sooner rather than later.
