Will you be booking a day or two off work to play GTA VI? Because it seems like that’s the plan for a lot of would-be players.
I dread to think what will happen on GTA VI’s launch day when offices are empty. Thousands of employees conveniently come down with a cold and can’t work coincidentally on the same day a massive video game drops…
Can you blame them though? GTA VI looks fantastic.
We still don’t know when the game is going to launch but it’ll almost definitely be sometime in fall 2025 as the fear of delay has since moved on.

With the game supposedly coming out towards the end of the year, it’s going to be a mad dash to book time off when the release date finally gets announced, and influencers are predicting it’ll be a bad day to work in retail when it does.
In a Reddit thread, a TikTok from user lukestephenstv was shared, which commented on how the game’s launch day will feel like a National Holiday.
They then recommended that when a release date is eventually given, to get in ahead of the curve and get your time booked off well in advance in case you miss out.
Commenters in the thread were seemingly going to do that anyway, as one user said, “I know damn well I'm taking off release day.”

“Might as well be a public holiday. It's not just retail that's going to be impacted by this,” suggested another.
One drew comparisons to GTA V’s launch too, saying, “Now the game is many times bigger than in 2013, it’ll happen again.”
GTA VI is going to be huge when it eventually releases, and you’re going to want that day off to play it before spoilers hit the internet.
