breaking news
We might already know the GTA VI release date despite a significant lack of an official announcement.
As you likely already know, 30 January is said to be a pretty important date as far as the new GTA is concerned.
Typically, we take such theories with a pinch of salt, having been burnt by so-called important dates before.

However, it would seem that this time around, insiders are bang on the money.
As shared by our friends over at LADbible, the launch date for GTA VI has seemingly been revealed early by a “Southern American retailer”.
The Uruguay based store has the release date down as 17 September 2025.
We're hungry for another GTA VI trailer
What is more, the copies for sale are for the PS5.

If true, this would definitely line up with the autumn 2025 release window everyone has been working to since the first trailer was revealed.
As detailed by LADbible, 80 Level has claimed that a local has spoken with the store owner who has purportedly said they “work directly” with PlayStation.
The same outlet had this to say on the matter:
“Presumably, some miscommunication between the store and the game's developers led to the unintended early reveal of a release date that was meant to remain secret - giving us a chance to clear our calendars well in advance.”

Furthermore, after LADbible did a little research, it was discovered that Rockstar’s new title is still listed for sale with that same release date of 17 Sept.
At the time of writing this, neither Rockstar nor Take-Two Interactive have commented on this leak’s legitimacy.
Considering how limited official information about GTA VI has been, it seems unlikely this matter will be addressed, though we’ll gladly be proven wrong.
Whether this leak is genuine or not, seeing such a date has undoubtedly given us hope that there’ll be no delays.

However, hope is a tricky thing, and it can sometimes give us a false sense of security.
We’ll update you on this story when we have further information.
