If you, like me, are awaiting an update on the highly-anticipated The Sims 5, you’re going to want to take note of this recommendation.
The Sims 5 remains without a launch window, although it’s predicted to launch in 2025. EA is hard at work on the project and we’re keeping an eye on any and all updates. In the meantime though, you may want to turn your attention to the upcoming InZOI. Combining the life simulation gameplay of The Sims franchise with the graphical realism of Grand Theft Auto VI’s latest trailer, there’s a lot to be excited about when it comes to this project.
Take a look at InZOI in action below.
Powered by the impressive Unreal Engine 5, InZOI comes from Korean developer Krafton. This brand new life simulator is a worthy rival to EA’s The Sims. In it, you will control ‘ZOIs’ including where they live, their jobs, and their relationships. All your typical life sim fare. Back in November, we were granted our first look at the project’s gameplay.

You can definitely see the power of UE5 in action. InZOI opts for photorealism, far more so than The Sims ever has. That’s not to say that InZOI is better because of it - photorealism is by no means supreme. I’m simply pointing out that it’s great for us, as potential players, to have two life sims to enjoy that clearly each have their own distinct persona.
In the gameplay footage, we saw InZOI’s extensive character creator in action, some relationship building, and some interior design. Gameplay is said to heavily revolve around your ZOI’s profession, again setting the game apart from The Sims. There’s also a Director Mode where you can make neighbourhood-wide changes. While InZOI remains without a release date (or release platforms), it’s expected to launch in 2024.
