I should’ve known that the Grand Theft Auto VI trailer wouldn’t put an end to the speculation. Of course, it only fuelled it further.
It’s well known by now that GTA VI is launching in 2025, and Grand Theft Auto fans aren’t exactly known for being patient. I know, I’m one of them. Since the trailer launched, the fandom has painstakingly poured over it, examining each and every frame for a scrap of a clue. Some fans even went as far as locating the trailer’s strip club in real life Miami. It could be quite sometime before Rockstar drops a new official update given that they don’t want the hype to peak too soon. We did just learn of the game’s first celebrity cameo
though.

ICYMI: Check out the GTA VI trailer below.
Well, dedicated fans have taken matters into their own hands, creating what they believe is an accurate satellite map. You may recall that before the release of GTA V, fans put together a mock-up map using the trailer and various other assets. It ended up being pretty accurate and work has been underway on the GTA VI iteration for quite some time.
The GTA mapping community originally began work on the project when the Rockstar Games leak happened in September 2022, using the various gameplay clips and screenshots. Of course, when the official trailer dropped last month, they were able to tweak it based on the new footage that was made available. Since then, given that Vice City is based on Miami, Florida, Reddit user RandomAmy7 has taken to Google Maps to find satellite shots that match the GTA VI map group’s mock-up. The end result is pretty convincing. Take a look below.

“This is huge,” one user replied, while another added, “I hope you are right.” As with all speculation, do take this map with a generous pinch of salt. Then again, given that the GTA V mock-up map ended up being semi-accurate, it’s an interesting little project to take note of.
