We’re already over halfway through 2024.
You know what that means … 2025 isn’t too far away and with it, the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI.
Scheduled to drop in Fall of 2025, referring to the period of September to November, GTA VI is perhaps the most highly anticipated game the games industry has ever seen.

Its initial trailer instantly blew up online. I can only imagine that its gameplay reveal and full launch will do the same.
We’re all desperate to know when that next reveal is coming.
There is a Take-Two earnings call due to be held next month. Could that bring us a fresh offering?
Perhaps, fans are convinced that’s the case.

Of course, we’re also keen to get a look at the official map.
The GTA VI fan mapping project has a pretty impressive mock-up, collecting evidence from both the official trailer and various leaks of the game.
It will certainly be nice to feast our eyes upon the real thing though.
I expect that it’ll be quite sizable to keep us busy, but I wonder if there’ll be room for expansions?

ICYMI: You may as well watch the GTA VI trailer one more time.
Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier has previously said that he believes that the game will expand over time, with fan theories suggesting that potential DLCs could take us to Las Venturas or Liberty City.
“Seeing the LV license plate in the GTA Online DLC made me wonder, how big is the chance we get a Las Venturas expansion in VI?” asked one GTA Forums user.

“I believe we’re getting Liberty City in a shape of form in VI. Why? The leaks in 2016/2017 from @Tez2 and a few others that were getting LC in GTAV. The Middle Park screenshot in V’s graphics,” added another.
They continued, “[Rockstar] probably saved it for GTA6. As end game map to visit, expansion for Online or few visits in single player like Guarma and North Yankton. They surprised us with New Austin in RDR2.”
This is, of course, merely speculation so do take it with an enormous pinch of salt.
That being said, it’s an interesting theory. It would be great to revisit Liberty City and it certainly doesn’t feel out of the question.

If what Schreier says is true, an expansion has to take us somewhere. Why not this beloved locale especially when, as players have pointed out, its been kept in our minds over the years via small hints and teases.
We’ll be keeping an eye out for more.
