It is the first month of a new year and alongside resolutions and plans for the future, this year in particular means just one thing for Grand Theft Auto fans.
The arrival of Grand Theft Auto VI.
Set to launch in Fall 2025, Grand Theft Auto VI has cemented itself as one of the biggest game releases of all time and it is no doubt that the Rockstar title will make history when it finally arrives later this year.

The story will take us back to Vice City and will follow brand-new protagonists, Jason and Lucia, on a “Bonnie and Clyde-esque adventure”.
Returning players will get to return to the infamous Vice City and new players will get to experience the chaos and beauty of a fictionalised Florida.

With GTA VI being the most anticipated game of the year (and perhaps the decade), fans have recently taken to r/GTA6 to share their thoughts about the big release, with many believing that it will “break the internet”.
“GTA 6 is going to break the internet,” one post read earlier this week, alongside a meme of Toy Story’s Andy throwing away Grand Theft Auto Online in favour of the next entry.
As well as many fans admitting that they are going to be taking time off school and work to play, one user believes it will have a dramatic effect on economics.
“There is going to be a visible economic impact when GTA6 releases, I'd bet that electricity demand will see a bump too,” Chonky_Candy wrote.

Although PC gamers may have to wait a while longer for the Rockstar title to leave console exclusivity, other players don’t believe that GTA Online will be completely abandoned.
“Ok, so GTA 6 isn't getting online right away, so that's not gonna happen,” CircStar89 commented.
“People will still play online in 5 when they want multiplayer until 6's multiplayer is ready to go.”
Regardless of what happens, there is no denying that Grand Theft Auto VI is going to have record-breaking numbers when it launches later this year.
