Dan Houser, the man behind Red Dead Redemption 2, L.A. Noire and basically every Grand Theft Auto title since GTA II, has finally revealed what his post-Rockstar career will entail… and I don’t think we quite expected this.
Thank you in advance to Dexerto's Brad Norton for the original source!
Back in 2020, Dan Houser left Rockstar Games for good. Houser had worked with Rockstar as an executive producer for years, and his first credit with the studio goes all the way back to 1999.

Now he’s Venture-ing out on his own, and he’s finally ready to show us what his new studio, Absurd Ventures, has been working on.
“A very first look at just a few characters from the ABSURDAVERSE. Prepare to meet some new kinds of heroes (and watch them suffer),” states the press release on Absurd Ventures.
“More information to come this year about the first animation projects and about our original story-driven action-comedy adventure game set in the Absurdaverse, now in development at Absurd Ventures.”
So, what is the “Absurdaverse”? Absolutely no idea.

Look man, you’re reading the same press release as I am. I don’t know if this is a video game, a comic book or a religious experience. All I know is there’s some artwork of some goofy-looking characters and a title.
But Houser has a lot more on the way it would seem, as he also revealed that two other Absurd Ventures-produced projects are on their way too.
“Stay tuned as well for more updates in 2025 about our other two storytelling universes, A BETTER PARADISE and AMERICAN CAPER.”
The fact that they’re “storytelling universes” is vague enough that I’m starting to think this is some kind of multimedia venture.

Literally anything is on the cards at this point though, so we can only wait for Houser to reveal more before we truly know what we’re looking at.
