Grand Theft Auto VI is finally on its way next year, and the game will inevitably include a couple of celebrity cameos.
It is tradition, after all.
Dr. Dre, Ricky Gervais, Frankie Boyle, Danny Dyer, Danny Trejo, and Samuel L. Jackson are just a handful of examples that spring to mind.
With GTA VI reflecting the social media age it exists within, I feel it’s going to be easier than ever for Rockstar Games to shoehorn in a ton of cameos, even if it’s just via whatever the game’s inevitable version of an Instagram Reel is.

Of course, GTA VI doesn’t need ‘star power’; the game itself is the ‘star power’, but I’d be shocked if Hollywood and the music industry hadn’t been knocking on Rockstar’s door for the past couple of years.
Well, while no cameos have yet been outright confirmed, it does appear that one musician has begun teasing his inclusion.
That musician is none other than Travis Scott.
Scott recently dropped a music video for his song ‘2000 Excursion’ and, as reported by Video Gamer, there’s an obvious reference to GTA VI at the 3:56 mark.

On the red car featured at that point in the video, the license plate reads ‘GTA VI6’ … it doesn’t get more obvious than that.
What does this mean? There’s a couple of possibilities.
This could mean absolutely nothing with Scott simply trying to grab Rockstar’s attention for a possible cameo further down the line, perhaps in GTA VI’s version of GTA Online.
It could mean that ‘2000 Excursion’ is featured in the game, or it could be a hint that Scott is an NPC or a cameoing radio host as we’ve seen fellow musicians do in the past.

I’m not a Travis Scott expert, I’ll admit, so I conducted some research to see if Scott had any notable links to Miami or Florida.
I wondered if perhaps that might add fuel to the fire that he’d been chosen to appear in the fictional Vice City in Leonida.
He wasn’t born or raised there, but he was arrested on Miami Beach in June 2025 so make of that what you will.
There’s no denying the simple fact though that Scott is one of the most popular rap / hip-hop artists on the planet, and that alone could be the reason for his potential inclusion.

If the cameo is real, it’s not one that’s gone down well with fans.
That’s unrelated to his music and more to do with his history of crowd safety issues at his concerts.
You may recall that in November of 2021, a mass-casualty crowd rush took place during Scott’s hometown performance at his Astroworld Festival.
Sadly, at least 10 people died with 25 more hospitalised and over 300 receiving minor injuries.

“He also is going to be featured in Trample Simulator 2026,” wrote an unimpressed kman8297 on Reddit.
“Damn , not him,” added Alyv387.
A few users were slightly more optimistic: “Lmaooo these comments are sending me. Travis got some good albums man.”
It goes without saying that we’ll bring you any updates on celebrity cameos as we near release.
