GTA VI hasn't even been released yet, but some fans are still speculating a recent video related to the next entry in the Rockstar Games series may have spoiled its ending.
When the first official trailer for GTA VI dropped in December 2023, it’s fair to say that it broke the internet. Well, not literally, otherwise you wouldn't be reading this article if the internet was broken, but you get what I mean. At the time of writing, the debut trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI currently sits at a whopping 162 million views on YouTube, and counting.

At this time, we do know that GTA VI will focus on two protagonists named Jason and Lucia, said to be inspired by the infamous crime duo, Bonnie and Clyde. What’s more, we also know that it will at least feature the returning location of Vice City with the map expected to open up with more locations to be revealed in the coming months.

In terms of story, while details are vague, we know that Jason and Lucia are trying to make their way in Grand Theft Auto’s satirical world with a return to a life of crime never far behind. Everything else is speculative, but that hasn't stopped fans from wondering how GTA VI might conclude.
Some users on Reddit have speculated that the ending of GTA VI might come down to the player choosing who lives and who dies between Jason and Lucia, as explored in a video from concept artist TeaserPlay.
“I'm scared that this man predicted the future,” said krostogaming. “The game didn't come out yet and people already predicted the ending,” replied parsarustami774. “THE GAME WILL END LIKE THIS!” exclaimed another user.
In a different thread, Redditor North_Ad6191 has speculated that Lucia's demise will be the theme of the GTA VI story. “When Lucia responded "Bad luck I guess.." in the GTA VI trailer, I immediately believed she was going to be a true bad girl in the game. Anybody who pays attention to body language, facial expressions and tone, can see it almost immediately. She has an IDGAF mentality that Rockstar is hinting at,” they explained.

Anyone familiar with Rockstar Games will know that putting tragic choices in the hands of the player is a common theme whether it be Grand Theft Auto or Red Dead Redemption. We’ll just have to wait and see what heartbreaking tragedy GTA VI may or may not throw our way next year.
Grand Theft Auto VI will be released in 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S with the currently unconfirmed PC release to follow.
