Rockstar Games has just revealed that Grand Theft Auto V is getting one more patch on PC, and it’s bringing an exclusive feature with it that can’t be found on console versions of the game.
Thank you in advance to John Papadopoulos over at Dark Side of Gaming for their breakdown!
As announced by Rockstar Games last night on their official site, a new PC-exclusive patch is dropping for GTA V on March 4.

However, although Rockstar notes that the patch will bring “sought-after features previously only available in the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of GTA Online” to the PC version of the game, it seems there’s something hidden in there just for PC players.
The new patch will bring things up to date by adding “all the latest vehicles and performance upgrades available at Hao’s Special Works, animal encounters, and access to purchase a GTA+ Membership” to GTA V on PC, but it’ll also add Ray Tracing effects that can’t be found in the console version of the game.
Tucked away at the bottom of Rockstar’s post is a little section with “Technical Enhancements”, which specifically notes that the update will include “Ray tracing features only available on PC such as ambient occlusion and global illumination — plus ray traced shadows and reflections first debuted on consoles.”
There's a handful of nice little quality of life improvements in here too, such as support for AMD FSR1 and FSR3, and NVIDIA DLSS 3, faster SSD and DirectStorage loading times, enhanced support for higher resolutions and framerates, and DualSense controller support.

All in all, it sounds like PC is going to be the definitive place to play Grand Theft Auto V moving forward.
Here’s hoping this is good news for the currently unannounced PC port of Grand Theft Auto VI.
