It seems as though Rockstar Games is trying its hardest to disappoint fans in recent months.
With no sign of the second official trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI and hints at a potential delay, it is not looking good for the studio.

Now, to add insult to injury, a recent rumour reveals that Rockstar has got quite a few cancelled projects hidden away, including one which would have brought Liberty City to Grand Theft Auto V.
Advert
The rumour comes courtesy of PuertoRock77 on Twitter who posted the following message on 27 December, 2023.
“Apparently the alleged rumor is Rockstar cancelled the following projects to put the personnel resource behind supporting GTA Online:
GTA Tokyo
Bully 2

The Agent
8 story DLC for GTA V
All of this to keep GTA Online going.”
The post was made in response to Naughty Dog announcing that it would remain a single-player driven studio which, as we know, Rockstar Games has strayed away from in recent years.

If this rumour is true, that would mean that the studio has favoured GTA Online over potential projects dedicated to some of its much-loved single-player games,
So, as you can expect, fans are heartbroken to learn the news.
“That’s a bummer,” one user shared over on r/TwoBestFriendsPlay.
“Rockstar dumped everything to feed GTA5. Couldn’t even be bothered to support RDR2 despite the hype they pushed for it.”

Another said: “Still forever wishing we got a Liberty City stories equivalent for RDR2 that eventually added Mexico back in at some point.”
As usual, this is merely a rumour and has not been confirmed by Rockstar itself so it is worth taking with a pinch of salt.
However, it is still heartbreaking for fans to hear what could have been.
