Earlier this year, along with the confirmation that both a Horizon Zero Dawn and God of War TV series are in the works, it was revealed that Gran Turismo, of all things, would also be getting a silver screen adaptation. This (unfortunately) isn’t going to be a mature competitor to Pixar’s Cars - apparently, the movie will tell the tale of a teenage Gran Turismo player, who ends up becoming an actual race car driver.
The Last of Us' HBO TV adaptation is also on the horizon - stick around to the end of the video below to see the trailer.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the cast just got significantly more stacked with the addition of Orlando Bloom. The actor, best known for his role as Legolas in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit series, will apparently play a marketing executive who’s selling the sport of motor racing, but might also “believe in its art”, whatever that means. It was also recently confirmed that Stranger Things star David Harbour (who plays everyone’s favourite sheriff, Jim Hopper) will be taking on the role of a retired driver who will teach the teenage protagonist how to drive.

Reportedly, filming will commence in Europe this week, and the film is currently slated for a 11 August 2023 release. Hopefully, it won’t be too long until we get to see a trailer.
