In our review, we said that Gotham Knights is "a first-rate Batman game despite not really featuring Batman at all" and if you're curious about how Rocksteady Games pulled that off, then the game is free to play now. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Gotham Knights faltered out of the gates when it launched in the latter half of last year. Of course, the omission of last-gen versions would always cause some commotion and the Batman: Arkham series left a serious shadow for Gotham Knights to step out of and into its own class of game. However, the fact that the game is still locked to 30 frames per second even on whizzy PlayStation 5s and Xbox Series consoles as well as technical hiccups tarnished the experience of the inventive gameplay.

It is fortunate then that there's been enough time between Gotham Knights' launch and this free trial available through PlayStation Plus Premium. You'll only have one hour in the game - for unknown reasons as the other trials are all two hours long - but this might just be the perfect jaunt into the crime-infested city. "While it’s not without some mild downsides, Gotham Knights is an outstanding title that deserves a space in any Batman fan’s game collection," surmised James. It's worth pointing out too that any progress in the trial is saved and transferred to the full game should the player choose to purchase Gotham Knights.

Again, nothing ventured, nothing gained. The remainder of the games on offer through PlayStation Plus Premium game trials are The Last of Us Part 1, A Plague Tale: Requiem and Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3: Slime Speedway. So you can have an absolutely apocalyptic time and also Spongebob is there too.
