As we get closer to the release of God of War Ragnarök (which I think many of us still can’t quite believe is actually coming out this year), there’s still a lot of stuff that we don’t know about the game yet. We’ve still not had a glimpse at Asgard (although we have had a teaser), nor have we discovered what the Allfather, Odin, looks like.
Take a look at the latest trailer for God of War Ragnarök below.
Things may have just changed on the latter front though, as one leaker has taken to the r/GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit to share what they claim to be concept art for Odin. Assuming it’s real, we don’t have the clearest view in the world - he’s only visible from the chest up, and is covered in text, but it’s still enough to see that he’s really intimidating, as you’d expect.
Reddit users have been sharing their reactions to the supposed design: “Not gonna lie, I was expecting Zeus 2.0, good call of them to make something different and unique,” commented HearTheEkko. “His face kinda resembles Baldur a little bit,” wrote Severe-Committee6240. “I was gonna say conceptually he looks a little like Tyr. Perhaps somewhere in the middle of the two?” replied PorkPiez.

Last month, Ragnarök’s art director, Raf Grasseti, had teased that Odin would have a pretty interesting design, so this seems to add up. When asked on Instagram who he thought was the hardest character to design or create, he replied “Odin”, adding that he “worked for a long time with [lead character concept artist Dela Longfish] on that[,] can’t wait for people to see it”.
