A potential release date for the upcoming God of War Ragnarök has appeared online.
The good news? It looks like we might actually be getting it in 2022 after all! The bad news? We're still in for a bit of a wait.
The sequel to 2018's excellent God Of War was announced in 2020 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 with a vague release window of 2021.
Of course, given the current state of the world and the fact that most major video games are delayed at least once before finally launching these days, we weren't too sure at all if we'd be seeing it or not. Sure enough, it was eventually bumped back to "2022", with an exact date yet to be confirmed.
Before we move on, take a look at the latest trailer for God of War Ragnarök below!
While there's still some uncertainty, a recent discovery made by PlayStation Game Size on Twitter suggests the new God Of War could release September 30, 2022. Still a little ways off, but not too long to go in the grand scheme of things.
PGS regularly scrapes the back end system of the PlayStation Network in an attempt to uncover updates that may hide information such as upcoming demos, game file sizes, and even the odd release date. All of this to say, the newly discovered Ragnarök release date has been put there by PlayStation.
As PGS itself acknowledges, this could well be a placeholder and nothing more. But if September 30 is the actual release date for God of War Ragnarök, then we'd expect PlayStation to share something official soon. We'll update you as and when we learn more. Watch this space.
