For years the Fallout series has been one of the most beloved RPGs of all time and a big reason for that is its ever-vibrant modding community.
Very few games are supported quite as well by its modding community like Bethesda titles whether it be Fallout or The Elder Scrolls, especially when that game is Skyrim. Whether it's new content, visual or gameplay overhauls to big bug fixes, you can always count on talented modders to enhance the video games that we love.

Fallout fans on Reddit have been discussing their favourite mods for the post-apocalyptic RPG. “Which quest-based mods do you think are essential to modding Fallout 4,” asked Powerful-Ad-8752. “I'm finally getting into Fallout 4 modding. I've added some gameplay mods but now I'm looking at adding some quest mods with new NPC’s and voiced characters. Which ones are your favourites?”

“Tales from the Commonwealth is the closest to essential imo; everything else depends on what you’re looking for,” replied Drafonni. “Seddon’s stuff gets an honourable mention as well.” Xboxbox145 agreed saying that ‘Tales of the Commonwealth’ has: “been an essential part of my Fallout 4, everything about it just fits smoothly into the base game.”
“The essential two are ‘Sim Settlements 2’ and ‘Tales from the Commonwealth’: the former fleshes out the settlement system while also in my opinion having a story that better fits Fallout 4's setting,” explained Sgtwhiskeyjack9105. “That's not too closely tied to the Sole Survivor's own story, and the latter does a fantastic job of adding a lot of side quests that I think many people expect to find in a Bethesda game.”

There are a few other Fallout 4 mod recommendations on the forum such as ‘An Atomic Return’, ‘Larannkiar’, ‘Bleachers a Diamond City Story’ and more, but it’s fair to say that ‘Tales of the Commonwealth’ dominates the thread.
Created by Kris Takahashi, if you’re interested, you can download ‘Tales of the Commonwealth’ for free now via Nexusmods. “Tales from the Commonwealth adds over 20 quests, 125 NPCs, and three companions with over 1000 lines apiece to the game. In total, there are over 12,000 lines of dialogue,” reads the description of the mod.
Fallout 4 is out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. What’s more, Fallout 4 is also currently available to Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus Extra/Premium subscribers at no extra cost.
