We don’t even really know if Fallout 5 is in active development yet, so the next entry in Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic series could be anywhere from a few years to a decade away at this point.
But don’t fret folks, because the next best thing is dropping in March next year - Rebellion Development’s Atomfall.
Rebellion has been slowly teasing more and more info regarding Atomfall over the past few months, but they finally gave us the news we’ve all been waiting to hear last night.

As revealed in a spooky new teaser trailer for the game, Atomfall will officially drop on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S, Epic Games Store and Steam on 27 March 2025.
If you’re a Game Pass holder then I have even better news, because said teaser trailer also reveals that the game will be landing on Microsoft’s game subscription service upon release.
Take a look at Atomfall in action below.
For those curious to learn a bit more about the game, we had the opportunity to go hands-on at this year's Gamescom, writing, "Atomfall is incredibly well designed, using stereotypes to create an amusing sense of absurdity that just works so very well. With an intriguing world, easy-to-learn controls and a sterling premise, I feel quite confident that Rebellion has cooked up something very special. Atomfall is one to keep an eye on."

Having watched some gameplay, I think it looks a little rough around the edges (specifically the AI looks a bit rubbish, considering that the enemies don’t seem particularly reactive to the idea of getting stabbed in the face), but it shows a lot of promise.
Plus, considering there’s roughly half a year between the previously released slice of gameplay and the game's release date, I think that Atomfall looks in a pretty decent place all things considered.
At the very least, we won’t have long to find out whether or not the game will be any good.
Personally I was expecting the release date to be a little further into the future myself, but I certainly won’t complain about having something to tide me over between now and Fallout 5’s release (whenever that actually ends up being).
