A Fallout player with over 5,000 hours in Fallout 4 has found a lovely little feature in the loading screens of the game.

This is something we had just learned about when stumbling across it over on Reddit. According to the original post, you can enter VATS while staring at the loading screens.

Fallout 76 will soon receive a DLC expansion letting players create a Ghoul to play as for the first time

On PC you simply hit the ‘Q’ key, while on console you’re looking at the ‘X’ button or the ‘Square’ button by default.

By entering VATS on this screen you can change the look and make it similar to how you see enemies when using VATS in-game.

Reddit user, PolyZex, made this discovery sound very meta by commenting, “Is this a loading screen tip for loading screen tips?”

Fallout 4 is known for its many secrets, easter eggs, and hidden details, so it comes as no major surprise that there’s a hidden secret in the loading screens.

The only surprise is that it took this long for us to find out. Given that the original Redditor found it after over 5,000 invested in the game, it can’t be widely known.

Another user, D-O-GG-O, wonders further and says, “Makes me think about what else they could be hiding from us.”

With this being Bethesda, honestly, there could be many more little secrets we know nothing about.

The Fallout games have had a bit of revival since the Amazon Prime TV show debuted with many fans exploring wastelands for the first time.

Fans of the franchise have recently had the huge release of Fallout London to greedily soak up, giving us a little more Fallout to play.

Helpful, considering Fallout 5 is a long way off, what with Bethesda finishing up Elder Scrolls 6 before they even get started on a new wasteland for us to explore.
