Fallout 4 has a hidden boss most of us never saw

How did we miss him?

During your time across the Commonwealth, you will uncover all sorts of secrets that Bethesda has planted across its open-world RPG.

However, as with any open-world title, it is easy to overlook some of the finer details and despite Fallout 4 being released back in 2015, players are still stumbling across new discoveries to this day.

Take a trip down memory lane with the trailer for Fallout 4 below!

From handy loot spots to hidden islands with secret quests, players are sharing their latest finds with the rest of the Fallout community and that includes one which was posted to r/Fallout back in 2024.

“Who is this guy?” The post by Federal_Sun5481 asked, alongside a screenshot of a tough-looking enemy known as Absalom.

Having a name would make you think that he played an important role in Fallout 4 but it would seem as though a lot of players missed this enemy during their playthroughs.

However, it would seem as though fellow user Revenant62 has all the answers.

“Absalom is a named, immediately hostile Raider,” they explained.

“He only appears once if you kill him, through a random encounter, and the big prize is his full suit of leveled Combat Armor, which is really good armor until you can find excellent Legendaries.”

It turns out that, depending on which level you kill Absalom at, he will drop gear that levels to your own level. So, if you kill him at the start of the game, you will receive basic Combat Armour but if you stumble across him later on, you can grab Heavy Combat Armour.

He is not found in an exact location but can be stumbled across whilst roaming around the Commonwealth and some players have even reported seeing him as far as the Island.

He is not an easy enemy and will put up quite a fight but it is clear that it is worth killing and looting him in order to get some decent armour.

Hopefully you will stumble across him in your next playthrough of Fallout 4.
