Fallout 4 gets hefty fan expansion that adds tons of new content

The release of a new DLC-sized Fallout 4 mod is a weekly event at this point

Please, no more, I beg of you - my Fallout 4 mod list is already longer than a Lord of the Rings book.

Jokes aside this is genuinely starting to become an issue for me. Bethesda’s Fallout 4 modding community just keeps adding more and more quality content to the game with every passing second, and today’s example is no exception.

The “HighTide's Wasteland Expansion” mod by Nexus author TheHighTide is aiming to expand the Commonwealth’s map by adding a bunch of new content to the map, in a bid to make some of the more barren locations in the game a bit more exciting.

As TheHighTide explains, they started work on the mod because some of the locations in Fallout 4’s vanilla map felt too empty to them.

“HighTide's Wasteland Expansion is a mod that adds many more structures to the commonwealth,” they stated in the mod’s description.

“Some times, you see blank and empty areas of the world that look like they could use some more objects, well this mod solves that problem.”

TheHighTide has attempted to solve this issue by adding several new interior and exterior cells to the game, including a Vault-Tec Bunker and an Abandoned Raider Camp.

A few pre-existing locations also have brand new spaces to explore as well, such as Big John's Salvage Yard.

They also promised that there’s some extra content hidden amongst all of this too, including “New terminals for some makeshift misc lore" and “inhabited and uninhabited” Raider outposts.

Perhaps most impressive is that TheHighTide managed to pull this off “using only vanilla Fallout 4 resources and assets”.

That means that, due to the mod not requiring any custom assets, players on both Xbox and PlayStation systems can install the mod too.

Now seriously, give it a rest guys. My poor little SSD can’t take any more of this.
