There is no denying that Fallout 4 can be somewhat challenging considering it all takes place in a radioactive post-apocalyptic setting.

However, one player has recently drawn attention to a brand-new way of playing the Bethesda title and things are about to get a whole lot harder.

As with any Fallout title, surviving in the wastelands is key if you want to complete your objectives.

However, with ghouls, mutants and Death Claws hanging around, that isn’t always easy.

That being said, one user over on r/Fallout has seemingly wanted to make things even harder in Fallout 4 by playing it in Survival Mode.

“Playing Survival in Fallout 4 is like a whole different game,” they posted.

“I played Fallout 2, New Vegas, & Fallout 4 this year but I felt like starting another playthrough.

I never played Survival mode but decided to try it. THIS IS THE WAY FALLOUT WAS MEANT TO BE PLAYED.”

The user goes on to explain that in Survival Mode, luxuries like Stimpaks and sleeping bags are a difficult commodity to come by and don’t even get them started on having enough food to eat.

The Survival Mode tasks you with… well, surviving and everything that comes with it.

That means finding food, water and shelter and not doing so will actually have dire consequences.

This different way of playing seems to be a hit with other players as many took to the comments to share their love for the mode.

“I agree that survival is definitely the way to go,” one person wrote.

“You find so much random food and things like that that have absolutely no use in a normal playthrough, survival really forces you to scrounge around and look through everything.”

Another said: “I think Survival starts out as overwhelming to a newcomer, but once you know what you're doing, it's SOOO much more fun.

I've been in FO4 for about 3,400 hours now, most of it Survival. I would never play another difficulty at this point.”
