Elden Ring wins 'Best Game You Suck At' Steam award

Elden Ring wins 'Best Game You Suck At' Steam award

Elden Ring has won 'Best Game You Suck At' at this year's Steam Awards. Of course it did.

Elden Ring has officially won the ‘Best Game You Suck At’ accolade at this year’s Steam Awards - and honestly, I feel called out. I know, I know. ‘Git gud’ and all that.

FromSoftware’s latest title absolutely dominated 2022. God of War Ragnarök may have ended up with the most awards at last year’s Game Awards, but it was Elden Ring that took home the coveted GOTY accolade. In fact, Elden Ring has nabbed hundreds of GOTY wins - breaking a record previously held by The Last of Us Part II. Here at GAMINGbible, it ranked in second place on our own GOTY list, losing to God of War Ragnarök. Trust me, it was a tense debate.

Take a look at some of our favourite Elden Ring wins and fails below.

This latest award though is pretty unique. I can’t say ‘Best Game You Suck At’ is a category I’ve come across too often but Elden Ring had to take the title, didn’t it? Sure, there are plenty of people who are very good at it but there are heaps of us who aren’t. The thing is, Elden Ring lured in a lot of people who perhaps aren’t typically soulslike fans (me) and we just don’t have the patience for success.

Elden Ring was also Steam’s GOTY award winner. Cyberpunk 2077 took home ‘Labour of Love,’ Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales won ‘Outstanding Visual Style,’ Stray nabbed ‘Most Innovative Gameplay,’ God of War won ‘Outstanding Story-Rich Game,’ and Death Stranding Director’s Cut was awarded ‘Best Game On The Go.’

If some of those games have thrown you off, don’t forget that we’re talking about PC ports released in 2022. Between God of War and Death Stranding, I too thought we’d travelled back in time for a second.
